Lightning

Lightning is usually not the first hazard to come to mind when considering risks to data center uptime. However, there have been instances reported of facilities shutting down because of lightning strikes.

Locating your data center outside of areas known to be high density lighting zones, and other natural disasters for that matter, is the best preventative measure possible.
